fonts have disappeared, Please Help!

Heyjuli28

I have winxp, Office XP standard-students&teachers. i don't know the exact
date, it was around recent SP2 or pub97 install, but Comic Sans MS(regular)
and Bradley Hand ITC have disappeared from all applications. Comic Sans bold
is still there. I don't know if any other fonts are missing, but I used these
two regularly. I have tried moving all contents of Windows\fonts and
windows\system to another folder and repair/installing office apps, and no
additional fonts (other than required ones) were installed by setup program.
So i moved them all back successfully. When I try to install Comic font
alone, the installer tells me that it is already installed and to delete old
file. An exhaustive search of my system tells me that it only exists in
searches, recycle bin, and other similar places besides windows\fonts. But it
doesn't. i have inunstalled pub97 because it wouldn't run anyway... just have
to do that work at the school.

please, please help!

Powertoys are great! There were a couple I had been hoping for, but the font
folder fixer didn't seem to do anything.
When I try to install the Comic Sans font, i get a message that it's already
installed, and that I should remove the old one. It isn't there. I can't see
it in the list or use it in any program. Searches of "my computer" show it
only in searches. I've tried to pick it out of the cab file on the officexp
cd, and it still doesn't work. The comic sans bold is there and i can use it
(ver 2.10), but not the regular. Bradley Hand ITC is another font that is
missing and will not let me replace it.
Is there something else I can try?
Thank you for your help.

I have tried updating the printer driver (wouldn't update because it said it
was already current), and deleting and reinstalling printer.
