fonts huh?

H

hulud1

I get a message saying that Square 721Dm is a font no longer available. I am
being prompted to change the font "temporarily" to Times New Roman.

This is an enormous pain in the neck, as fonts fit differently on the page
and can result in the necessity of changing the graphics and/or verbage on
one or more pages--and, often, all--of the document in order to get
everything to fit page by page.

Why is this font unavailable?

Why am I offered fonts that will not perform?

Aside from trial and error, which I do not have time for, how can one
discern which fonts will work and which will ultimately be denied?

Finally, is it possible to delete from the selections available any fonts
that will be denied?

The font you are using is not a Microsoft font. Your font may have become unstable.
Delete the font from the font folder and re-install.

If it helps this font was bundled with Corel.

I have two posts (one in Office general, and one in Publisher general
[sorry]) that appear to be on this topic. Could I ask responders to
coordinate with one or both of them for possible solutions? Thanks!

You can but then we'd have to ask why you posted the same question in more
than one newsgroup if you only wanted to look in one place for help.

If you are opening a document sent to you by someone else and that someone else used
the aforementioned font and it is not on your system you will get the message you are
getting.

Whew!!!

That would be because I'm a dope - I have few enough problems that I don't
remember how to use the newsgroups properly...

Mary - let me make sure I have explained my situation (as distinct from
hulud1's situation, even tho his sounds like mine) - I have installed these
fonts on my computer. I can create documents in Word with them in every way
shape or form. Publisher acts like they aren't there, even tho I can see
them in my Fonts folder. This is the problem - making Publisher see them. I
have deleted and re-installed them twice. I have changed default printer - I
have tried the easy fixes, unless you have another one handy. Hope this
helps -

I gotta give you credit for admitting that publicly. Most people just get
defensive and start calling people names and by doing so, show their true
nature.

Since you're accessing the group thru the MS interface, make sure you check
the little box about letting you know when there's a reply to your post. :)

No, I'm an intelligent woman who knows better than to ask her husband that
question. He wouldn't deliberately hurt my feelings but he wouldn't be a
very convincing liar either.
