Fonts keep changing

I wanted to change the default font and did that in tools/options. However,
when I type OneNote continues to revert to Verdana at various times. It will
do this when I hit date stamp and when I start a new bulletted list item. Is
there some way to stop this?

If you have a paragraph written with Verdana font then the new paragraph
created from it (e.g. when you press Enter at the end) will inherit the font
settings. This applies to empty paragraphs too (when selected they show as
single char - their end of line)

Any new container (with a handle bar at the top) on the page should be
preset to your default font.

I'm not sure I understand exactly what you are doing when you hit date stamp
or start a new list - inserted date inherits font settings from the IP where
it's being inserted. And applying bullets to a paragraph doesn't change it's
font formatting.

I don't understand what is happening either, because I changed the default
setting but it doesn't take when I start a new container. Each time I start
a new container, or a new bullet item in the container, I have to select the
font type, size and color manually to get the default. It almost always goes
back to Verdana.

Could it be because I am running OneNote with Windows XP & Office 2000?

Nope, Windows and Office versions shouldn't matter in this case. But you
could have defined some custom font mapping, have you?

I suppose you've verified that the default font you've chosen in <Tools |
Options> was actually changed. If you exit the dialog with IP in the font
dropdown straight after changing the font OneNote fails to save the change...

Otherwise... Well, are you absolutely sure that even if you create new page,
click on it and start typing the font reverts to Verdana but you can still
manually reset it to the font you've specified as the default?

I don't know what "defined custom font mapping" is, so if I did that, it was
by mistake. Is there anyway to find out?

I closed OneNote and opened it again, went to tools/options and the default
font is Technic, which I had set. I opened a new page without stationary and
started typing and the font was either Verdana or something like that. I
can't tell because in the font selection window it still says Technic. To
get Technic, I have to manually select it.

Sorry to say that this happens to be a known bug :( OneNote doesn't pick up
symbol fonts from default settings. I'd appreciate if you could provide more
info on why you are using this font (e.g. because "it's optimized for math",
or because "this is my company standard") and where one can get it from.
Thanks,
Irina

The only reason I am using the font is that it was similar to my own
handwriting (all capitals). Since this is to replace paper, I thought it
would be fun to use. I don't know where it came from if it is not from
OneNote. I just found it in the font list.

I am a little confused since Technic appears to be a true type font. How
can I tell which fonts are supported?

Being true type is another dimension - a font can be symbol and true type at
the same time... Fonts have their own magic and I'm not any good at it:( Most
fonts shouldn't be like this though.

BTW, I can guarantee OneNote doesn't install Technic...
