Fonts missing from Word 2003

Hi

Have a strange problem.
In Word 2003 on Windows XP Pro SP2, some Fonts that are available to
pick, have a blank 'space' in the pick list, but if you select them,
they appear in the Document OK,and if I go to the Fonts folder, they
appear there and print fine.

I found a MS article about having a default printer, but I already
have several printers.

Anyone seen this before and know how to fix it?
