fonts missing - they made different pictures - Signs, Wingdings,

Year ago our Bookkeeper typed up pages showing names of all the Fonts typed
in their Font, plus she typed up all the special Fonts that when you had one
of them selected you could get different pictures or Signs or things like
checkmarks, or symbols. I just made a Spreadsheet and when an Action is
Completed I wanted to put a "Checkmark" symbol in the last column, which
would be under font "Quicktype" and type in the small "b" would get a "check"
sign. So, where in the world did we lose these special Fonts? Does anybody
know? Thanks for any help you can give me.
