Fonts unavailable for symbols

I'm trying to insert a symbol from a font, however, when I go through the
steps [insert], [symbol] ... I click on the font field pulldown menu and the
fonts only go to what starts with a letter "g". On the main worksheet, I
can scroll past the "g" to the end of the fonts, but not in the symbol
insert window. What's with that? I've never seen that before. I can't
imagine why. I just booted up. The fonts are there, that's for sure.
Strange!

Has anyone else ever seen this? Any suggestions?

Looks like the Insert>Symbol font list is limited to about 256 fonts.

I may have fewer fonts and can get to the "n"'s before running out.

Have not seen any fix for this and cannot find any info in Knowledge Base.

As a work-around, download Chip Pearson's Symbolizer add-in
