fonts wont embed when converting to PDF

Greg

using Word 2007...When I convert a Word document to PDF, I look at its
properties and generally it shows that all the fonts embedded but sometimes,
some do not. The ones that are not for this one im working on now are basic
ones like Arial and Times New Roman. These are also not copyrighted fonts so
they should embed. Why are they not doing this or is there some option in
Word that Im missing to make sure this works?

I don't know about Word 2007, but in Word 2003 there is an option (Tools |
Options | Save) not to embed "common system fonts" (which would include
Arial and Times New Roman), on the assumption that any recipient of the
document would have these fonts installed.

Did you check the PDF option - ISO 19005-1 compliant (PDF/A) - when creating
the PDF using Word 2007's PDF creation tool?
