Fontsize in spell checker

Generally I view my work zoomed in to 125 or 150%. That just works better, especially with a font like an 11 point Times or so.

However, when I want to check the spelling at the end, I get in the spelling window the 100% view again, and therefore very small screenfonts.

Is there a way to make these better readable also? For this way I have to change the fonts of the whole document with 2 points or so, then check the spelling, and then change it all back. That is kinda clumsy...

Thanks!

Hi Ev;

Running the spell check shouldn't cause the Zoom percentage to change for
the document window. If that's what you're referring to something needs to
be looked at a bit more closely & you'll need to provide more detail.

OTOH, if you mean the size of the font used in the spell check window
itself, I'm afraid there is nothing you can do to change that. The only
suggestion I can offer is to use the OS X Zoom )Command+Option+= to zoom in,
Command+Option+- to zoom out. The result of zooming in is a little fuzzy the
higher you go, but it may be good enough.

Thanks.

I meant the second possibility: the fontsize in the spell check window.

Yeh I can use the Option + slide-with-two-fingers-forward zoom, but indeed
that is a bit fuzzy. Hmm. Not ideal for large documents... (I'm a book
translator!)
Besides, I have to change the doc zoom back to 100% first, because otherwise
it gets too big for the screen. So then [select all; enlarge font to 14
point] is just as easy and no fuzzyness.

I've sent a remark to Microsoft. Maybe they will do something with it.

It is all a bit weird, I think, for an 11 point font is totally ordinary for
a document that is to be printed out, so one should be able to work
comfortably using it, I would say.

Well, we'll see what happens.

Thx

Hopefully there will be some changes made - related issues were put forward
in a recent opportunity to exchange ideas with MacBU. Several of us "elder
statesmen" noted that it seems as though a lot of the dialogs are being
designed by 20-somethings & severe myopics who can actually *read* 6 pt type
at 1280x1024 or higher :) I wouldn't expect any improvement until the next
release, however - 2008 will remain as is.
