Foot Notes HELP!!!!!

I am working on my final thesis, and I need help for
Footnotes.

I have 5 or 6 documents (in order to be able to save my
whole work in diskettes). I have created over 100
footnotes, and now I have 5 files for which the footnotes
start with #1. I need to renumber them, need some command
that alows me to say: "mantain the same sequence and
structure, but start footnotes for this file with number
36 (or whathever)"

Anyone knows what can I do to solve this?

All the best

Insert | Footnote, click on Options... You will see a Start at setting.
Click Close to save the change but not Insert a note.

However, if your thesis is organized into chapters, it is standard practice
to restart footnote numbering with each chapter (unless you have been
directed to do differently.)

By the way, never save directly to or from a diskette, but always save to
the hard copy and copy to the diskette, to avoid corruption.
