different pages in a single document having say about 5
pages.

e.g.
there are 5 pages with different Data containing five
different words (MM540, CJ340, CommanderHT, Bolero,
Scorpio) & i want to display these words in the footer but
am unable to do so.

Pl. help.

You might want to investigate the use of the StyleRef field for this
purpose. A StyleRef field in the header/footer will pick up text in that
style from the current page, so if you apply a specific style (it can be a
character style, which can be the same as the Default Paragraph Font, but of
course if these terms are already headings, then you can just refer to the
heading style) to the terms you want in the footer, you'll get the
appropriate footer on each page.

Two ways to do this include:
1) Insert section breaks between each page (Insert->Breaks-
Next page under "Section break types), and make sure that
the "Same as Previous" button in the footer's toolbar is
DE-Selected before you insert or revise any of the
footers. All page setup instructions, including headers
and footers, have to be the same within any one section,
but a file may have as many sections as you like. Page
numbering may also start afresh after any section break.
2) Create a character style (as opposed to a paragraph
style) for the terms to be included in the footer, attach
each term to the style, then in the footer, when the
cursor is where you want the term inserted, use the Insert-
Field command to insert the term (which will change for
each page). The type of field you need to insert is
named "StyleRef." If the term is already in Heading style
text, you don't need to create the character style first,
but the entire heading will appear in the footer.
Hope this helps - This is the first time I'm using this
newsgroup and I relied because I have no idea where the
answers show up, and I had a question too!
