Footer Page Numbers "off" with Continuous Sections

I have various protected and unprotected sections in my document, but want
the page numbering to be sequential, irrespective of sections. In
PageSetup, I have set the Section start to Continuous; in my Footer, I put
"Page " <and click the InsertPageNumber icon> "of " <and click the
InsertNumberOfPages icon.

The document's (realPages) 1 and 2 are correct, but the (realPage) 3's
footer is "Page 2 of 6" and the rest are similarly "off". The last page's
footer (realPage 6) is "Page 5 of 6". What's the deal with this?
