Footer Pagination Not Printing Correctly - Word 2000

When I use the field in the footer to indicate the page number and total
number of pages, I will see:

Page 2 of 10

However, when it is printed, I obtain:

Page 2 of 2.

I am using a Lexmark printer.

I do not seem to get this problem with Word 95.
