Hi Philippe,

Switch to Normal view and then from the View menu, select Footnotes and from
the Footnotes pulldown, select Footnote Separator

Note that you cannot edit the Footnote Separator or Footnote Continuation
Separator directly. Whatever it is (it appears to be a type of graphic
line), it is not possible to edit it as you would text, graphics, or a
border. But you can copy/paste it to lengthen it, or you can delete it and
substitute a longer or shorter line created as a border or graphic line or a
series of dashes or underline characters. Or you can eliminate it
altogether, though the paragraph it's in will still take up a line's space
unless you format it to a very small point size.
