Footnote continuation

I have a very long footnote (1/2 page) that I would like
to have split so that part of it continues to the next
page. I have been through knowledge base, help, and
google searches with no luck.

I am using Office XP Professional version of Word.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is the opposite of what most users want. Word will automatically split
a footnote if it is too long to fit on a page after the footnote reference
in the text, but in your case that's not applicable. If it were splitting at
all and were more than one paragraph, I'd say format the second paragraph as
"Keep lines together," which would at least force the entire second
paragraph to the next page, but if the entire footnote fits, I don't know of
any way to force part of it to the next page.
