Footnote numbering from portrait to landscape

Hi, I am using Word 2000 to format a doctoral
dissertation. The footnotes start renumbering at 1 at the
beginning of each chapter, which is fine. The problem is
that there are a few pages that have to go landscape in
the middle of some of the chapters and the footnote
numbering automatically restarts at 1 because of the
section breaks. Is there any way to get the numbering to
continue on the landscape pages without restarting at 1?
I have heard that you can do this in later versions of
Word but I don't have access to them. Is there any
workaround or hidden feature I am missing that can fix
this problem in Word 2000?

Thanks in advance for any information.

Hi, unfortunately, endnotes are not an option. :( I guess
the tables will either have to stay portrait or the file
will have to be split. :(

Hi B

Insert > Footnote. Click Options. Ensure that Numbering is set to be
Continuous (and not Restart each section). Click OK and then Close.

Hope this helps.

I haven't experimented with whether this setting can be customized for each
run of footnotes (handy if it can, though the UI doesn't really make this
clear), but the OP wanted footnote numbering to restart in each chapter,
just not for section breaks in the middle of a chapter.
