Footnote numbering gone awry

Hi! I pasted some new text into my Word 2002 document,
and now the footnote numbering is no longer continuous.
For instance, the footnote numbers go from 155 to 164.

I tried converting the numbers to endnotes (and back),
but it didn't work. Also, I removed the text and re-
pasted it, but the numbering is still off.

Any ideas what would fix it?

Hi, Joe Wheatley. If your document contains tracked changes that have
not yet been accepted, then the tracked changes can cause the footnote
numbers to be incorrect. Try accepting all tracked changes from the
Reviewing toolbar, then select all (Ctrl+A) and update fields (F9).
