Has MS Word changed the way it inserts footnotes? In
versions prior to office XP I believe footnotes were
inserted as field codes. However, in Office XP footnotes
do not seem to be inserted as field codes as they are not
revealed when toggling the "Alt + F9" key combination.
Two questions:
1. How are footnotes inserted? ie., Since they're not
field codes, what is the underlying technology that is
used?
2. Is there a known bug in Word whereby some footnotes
will start on the page before they are actually
referenced in the text? This seems to happen in long
documents with over 100 footnotes.
Thanks for any suggestions.
