for the record, problem word and excel slow to open - 1 solution

have windows 98se. when opening files from windows explorer, it would often
take 15-20 seconds for them to open up.

i ran msconfig.exe, went to startup, and disabled NDPS (dpmw32.exe) from
startup, then restarted. Now documents open up fast. it is related to Novell
printer somethingorother, but doesn't seem to affect my local printer which
is hte only one I use anyways.
