I have been praying for these people, and agonizing about their
situation. It is heart breaking to just sit here and watch that
storm approach while nothing can be done to avert the tragedy. I
just hope it abates a bit, and hits at low tide. Still the damage
is going to be extensive.

Thank you, Jim. It appears we *should* be okay in my part of North Alabama.
Some heavy rainfail and winds, and possible tornadoes. My son and his
family, who live about 60 miles west of Huntsville, could see worse, because
they are so close to the Mississippi line.

What this is going to do to the price of gasoline is going to be
catastrophic to everyone in the US.

Yeah, it isn't much different here in OZ
$A1.30 per litre, so that approx $A5.90 per imperial gallon (4.54 litres)
$A1 = $US0.75 (app.), so that's $US7.87
