Force all users to log off

I have a need from time to time to log all users off to make changes to
a database (Acess 2000). All users log in with the same name and
password. I have seen examples using timers tracking idle time, etc.
Would these work if all my users use the same name and password? i.e.
would everyone be kicked off if one user's login becomes idle? Is this
the best way to do this?
