Forced to save global template normal.dot

Hi there,

I have had this problem for a while and it happens now and then. when
I try to close Word 2000, I am told "this file is in use by another
application or user (c:\...\Normal.dot)" . then I click on OK. Then a
window pops up to let me save the Normal.dot. I click on "cancel".
then another pop-up window says "change have been made that affect the
global template, Normal. do you want to save those changes? I then
click on "No". Word is finally closed!
And the weired thing is this happens from time to time. Sometime it
looks like it has been fixed itself but after a while, the problem
appears again...

Any tips are appreciated! I have searched the group and failed to find
an answer.
