Forecasted finish date using partially completed task info

I have a task whose Planned finish date is 7/15/04. As of
7/22, the task is marked as 75% complete. Is there a way
to see what the projected finish date of the task, and the
overall project is, assuming that there are dependant
tasks to this task?

I know that once I add the "Actual Finish Date" into the
task information, thereby making the task 100% complete,
dependant tasks will move out accordingly. What I am
looking for, however, is a view/report to estimate what
the projected Task and/or Project Finish date would be by
calculating the partial completion of overdue tasks.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Before setting the % Complete to 75%, do the following :
Set the Status Date to 7/22/2004 : Project / Project Information / Status
date...
then :
Tools / Options / Calculation :
- Move end of completed parts after status date back to status date
- And move start of remaining...
- Move start of remaining parts before...
- and move end of completed...
