Foreign Characters Appeared After Mapping to Microsoft Project 2007

I have an Excel file that need to dump the data into MSP Project
Professional 2007, not PWA. The mapping seemed to accept all
configurations.

However, after importing, the task names displayed some "Chinese" or
"Foreign" characters. Another problem that I have is, some of the task
names have not been imported into the lines.

Not all of the task names displayed the Foreign characters. Some of
the lines are blank and some of them displayed the information
correctly.

I believe that there are no foreign texts appeared on the task name in
Excel. The total characters are not exceeding 255.

My Questions -> What created this problem? How can I rectify it?

A couple of things I would check for:

1) Are you moving from one computer to another? The second computer might
be set up to display Chinese characters - or have Asian languages enabled.
2) Have you tried doing this exercise, or just opening the MPP file on another
computer which does not have Asian languages installed?
2) How clean is the data in Excel? Are the entries on multiple lines, contain
funny *@#&$*@&#$* characters, or do they have lots of spaces inserted?

Newbie:

The most common cause from Excel is when the file contains soft returns in
the data. Project absolutely hates these. Andrew is right in questioning the
source file.
