foreign key is blank

I have two forms in a one-to-many relationship. I've
also created a data entry form for the two of them using
a main form and a subform. The problem is that when I
enter a new record the foreign key field is left blank.
I would like that to be automatically filled for quick
data entry.

Unfortunatley I've already done that and it still isn't
working. When i put the data in the foreign key field is
blank. Very strange. Any other suggestions?!
