Hi,

A few days ago I was in a big hurry.

Entourage began to run slowly and I began to get two warning messages. The
first said that something's wrong with Entourage and I needed to run
'.......'. a utility or a rebuild sort of thing, or perhaps 'Directory'
rebuild something. Being in a hurry, I closed the window, whereupon a
smaller warning window appeared and it said something like, 'this process
can't be excuted'. That window persisted and I had to click it a number of
times to get it to close.

I didn't take screenshots.

Since then I've been able to use Entourage. The only fault is that when I
click the red button to close a window there is a long delay. Also, neither
of the warning windows have appeared for a couple of days.

I remember not wanting to run the process because I didn't want to leave the
project I was working on, and because I didn't know what the process would
be, and if it would interfere or harm or disappear the material I was
working on.

Today I'd like to run the repair but I don't remember what it's called.

Thanks,

Rafael

Hi,
I believe I figured it out that it's " Rebuild Your Database". Does that
sound right? Will I have to restart?
Thanks, Rafael

Rafael, can you tell me how much free space you have on your drive?

Open Activity Monitor in Utilities
Click on the Disk Usage tab. It will tell you how much free space if left.

Before you try to rebuild we need to be sure you have the space. The fact
that you mentioned run slowly tells me it might be more than just a database
issue.

FYI...You need a minimum of 10% free space just to run your computer. To
rebuild you need much more than double the size of your database plus the
10% free. This article explains how much free space could be needed. It
applies to all versions of Entourage even though it was specifically written
for and Entourage X Identity.
