Form autosaves when opened

I am designing and have a (rather large) form with a subform that saves
itself everytime it is opened. Main form is unbound. Subform is bound. The
subform opens "after update" of choice of control in main form. How can I get
the mainform to stop autosaving whenever it is opened. TIA Ray, Capt HFD
