Form control in Publisher?

G

Gerald Muller

I've added some form controls to my web page in Publisher 2007, and can't get
them to work.

I added a List box, several text boxes, a text area, and reset and submit
buttons.

When I preview the web page, or when I publish to my web server, and try to
use the submit button, I get an error saying the IE can't open the web page.
This error makes no sense to me, since the controls are configured to send
e-mail to a valid address; it should not be trying to open a web page, it
should be trying to send e-mail. I can't find any help anywhere on this.

The Forms in a Publisher web page are dependent upon FPSE. You didn't say
what version of Publisher you are using, or whether you are using IE6 or
IE7, or XP or Vista, so here are some references:

Reference: Publisher web publication forms 101:

How to trouble-shoot Publisher web upload issues :

This would be applicable if you are using XP and IE6:
Reference: How to publish a Publisher web in HTTP:
http://msmvps.com/blogs/dbartosik/pages/80557.aspx

Reference: Prepare, publish, and maintain your Publisher Web site:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/publisher/HA100947601033.aspx
It is written for Pub 2007, but if you are using IE7 instead of IE6, then
the directions for using Vista also would apply to Pub 2003. FTP and HTTP
uploading has changed with the introduction of IE7 and Vista.

Sorry, you did say that you were using Pub 2007. I got carried away with
answering the question before yours...
