Form Conversion

Hi,

What types of forms may I convert in InfoPath? (PDF, DOC etc...)

I have some forms in Acrobat Designer that I would like to convert into an
InfoPath format and continue design from there.

Thanks

My you are full of questions today :)

Best you can do is print or print screen your other forms and set that up as
the background picture for your infopath form. They are not interchangeable
as far as i know.

Ha...Ha....Ha :)

Thanks Adam.

I have about 150 forms that I need to recreate using Infopath. This is
going to be some feat.

Thanks Again

No seriously having them as a picture background then makes the work much
easier. Most of the hardest decisions in Infopath are design based not
functionality based so it really does help a lot.

Only if the forms were created in XML can you convert them to Infopath.

Hi Adam,

After I save the original form as a picture (jpeg), then use it in my
infopath form as a background, do I just create fields over the ones that
exists in the background?

Thanks so much for your help.

Yep

that simple

Hi Adam,

InfoPath objects can only be moved by using the Tab and Spacebar keys right?

If so, Is there a freeform option in InfoPath, so that I may "Freely" move
my objects directly over the screenprint?

Thanks

Use layout tables to help and orient the infopath fields within them. They
will not appear on the form unless you make them. You use these to set where
you want things.

Adam,

I'll try to make this my last question....I promise.

When I add a table layout with say....3 columns and 4 rows, I still can't
move the table layout so that the table fields are in line up with my
background fields.

My background form has borders, lables, etc...

Can one move objects freely without having to uthe the tab key or spacebar?

Sorry Elyse

I have just checked and no they cant, fields and text conform to standard
microsoft practice ie press enter to start a new line etc.

I would make a layout table cover the entire form like an excel grid and see
if you can get it to fit by merging and splitting cells before adding fields.

Go for something like a custom layout table with X rows and 50 plus columns
should cover the JPEG and give you plenty of space ot put stuff

Cheers Adam

Adam,

After having played with the tools, I think that I understand what you mean.

I will still need to use the spacebar but at least I am only adding fields,
not lables, borders, and other cosmetics that can be time consuming....right?

Thanks again for your patience and help
