I've generated Word forms that are uploaded to a web site, they're
downloaded, filled out, and then sent back to me. For the past few years I've
not had a problem with them, but now they're seemingly corrupted randomly.
I'm willing to accept that occasionally Word files get corrupted but the
files aren't corrupted on the sender's computer. When I try to open them
they're either completely blank or I get a window asking me to select the
correct encoding.
I've had the files sent to my work address, which goes through an exchange
server, and to my gmail account. In both instances the files are corrupted.
I've also tried opening the file sent to my gmail account on my home computer
and I have the same problem so I don't think there's anything wrong with my
work computer or e-mail system.
I'm not looking for a way to recover the corrupt files, but I'm wondering if
anyone has insight into why these forms are suddently having problems for
random people when they've been fine for the past 16 months.
