Dario H.

Hi,
I want to create this form in word 2007 using activex controls and they seem
to work fine in the 2007 version, I enable the editing permission and only to
allow the form fill in. But when i save it to the 97-2003 compatability mode
and users open it in the 2003 version everything is locked even the form text
fields and radio buttons. What am i do it wrong or what am i missing. Please
help.

Hello Dario,

You've landed in a discussion group for users of Mac versions of Word. Mac
versions differ variously from PC versions. Although several people here use
both PCs and Macs and may give you an answer soon, it's likely that more
people in a PC group have experienced your specific problem. Here's where
all the groups are listed:

Although I agree with Clive that you'll get more detailed response in a
WinWord group your fundamental problem is that the older format doesn't
support the features of 2007 you're using in your document. Office 2007
format supports enhanced Protection features as well as a newer version of
ActiveX which aren't supported in the older format. IOW, in order for what
you are doing to work as you prefer you'll have to save in the appropriate
OXML (.docx/.dotm/.dotx) format or redesign the form based on what the
..doc/.dot format *does* support.
