Form Fields within a Control Text Box?

A

Is this possible to do? I am trying to copy a particular form, with the
ability to automatically drag data from a form field into the Control Text
Box.

I know I can do the same thing without the Control Text Box, but due to me
trying to make an exact copy of a document, the style of the form field needs
to be the same as the Control Text Box.

Thanks!

By a Control Text Box, do you mean and ActiveX Control Text Box?

Why wouldn't you just enter the data directly into the ActiveX Control Text
Box?

You cannot drag it from the type of formfield that is used in a document
that is protected for forms.

I know it sounds backwards! The reason is purely for display purposes. I
don't know if it is possible to create a cell or box that looks like the
ActiveX Control Text Box but contains a form field.

Do you know if this is possible?

My other idea involves creating an image from a pdf I have and overlaying a
form field over it at the right location. I just need to figure out how to do
that too. I'm not a real big user of Word, but I can often locate solutions
to what I need to do!

You've lost me. What display purposes?

But maybe what you want to do can be accomplished by putting the textinput
formfield inside the cell of a one cell table to which you apply a heavier
border to the top and left than to the bottom and right.

Awesome,

That worked. 1pt grey line on the top and left, 1/4pt on bottom and right.

Thanks for the help, it's the little things that count! I actually
accomplished a workaround by taking a snapshot of the doc and pasting it
behind the text. It looks a damn sight more professional doing it this way
though.
