Form Fields

I am having a real problem using form fields. I have created an order form
for a client and I have used tables (5 in all) to keep the text and the
area's that are required to be filled in by a customer properly aligned. At
the bottom of the form I used form fields to create 4 check boxes. When I
lock the form fields so that an "X" will appear when the customer checkes the
boxes, Words locks access to the entire document and on is able to type in
responses, or access the document anywhere other than at the check boxes and
then only to check them to produce an "X". What am I doing wrong, and how do
I fix this?
thanks

This is the expected behaviour for Forms protection: editing is allowed only
in those areas that contain form fields or that are excluded from the
protection. The solution is to insert continuous section breaks around those
areas that you want to allow the users to be able to edit and exclude those
sections from the protection. Of course, there will still be other
operations that are not allowed even in the unprotected sections, such as
spell checking and any sort of editing of content that's not in the
'document' layer, such as modifying images. (You can get a pretty good idea
of what's not allowed by looking at the toolbar buttons and menu items that
are disabled after protecting the document.) These are known limitations,
and while workarounds are available for some things, such as spell checking,
other things cannot be overcome so easily.
