Form rerouting problem

I have two forms on our website that redirect the user to
a confirmation form (a basic thank you statement).

For some reason both my forms are redirecting to a
subdirectory as follows:

_vti_bin/shtml.exe/contact.html

When this happens, the menu links are no longer valid, and
my user will get error after error trying to move off that
confirmation page.

Any ideas why my forms are redirecting into this
subdirectory this way?

Any help would be appreciated.

It's not redirecting
- it is serving your custom confirmation page using the FP SE
If your form is contact.htm, the confirmation page should not be contact.htm
(it should be some other page or a custom confirmation page you have created and set in Form Properties of contact.htm)

My confirmation form is contact.confirm.html, so I'm not
using the same html page for the confirmation.

contact.confirm.html is an illegal file name
make it contact_confirm.html
