Format Autoshape box pops up on screen when autoshape is selected

Whenever I select an autoshape or image the Format Autoshape box pops up on
the screen and keeps popping up despite selecting Cancel or OK until I
deselect the shape/image. This is making it impossible for me to resize,
move or edit auto shapes and images.
