Format Cell using letter & number to use in mail merge

trying to mail merge using database with letter & number in cell. The merge
comes out with a 0 instead of T321

Hi audrey,

If the column these fields are in has a numbers (with or without other alphanumeric strings) in the first 8 rows, the mailmerge
process is liable to interpret the column as being numeric and any alphanumeric strings will be evalutated as 0.

What version of Word are you using for the mailmerge, and what data connection method?
