Format Changes??

Hello,

I have a spreadsheet with over 4,000 rows. I have several
columns with a custom number format (ex. I enter 10 and
the cell displays 0010). I need to change this entire
column so that I can merge several of these columns
together but not lose the 0010. For example, if I'm
merging two cells like 0010 in A1 and 0125 in B1 I need to
get the whole number string of 00100125; however, I keep
getting 10125. Any help would be much appreciated.

=Text(A1,"0000")&Text(B1,"0000")

as an example.
