The subject heading under the From heading is annoying and wastes screen realestate. Is there any way I can format the display columns like in Outlook Express where the Subject heading is placed to the right of the From heading in a separate column?

Without seeing a screen snapshot, it's hard to be sure, but if I understand
you, I think the following will work:
1. In the View menu, deselect Arrange By > Subject.
2. Control-click or right-click on the list of columns and select Subject.
Drag the Subject heading to be wherever you want it to appear.

Hope this helps.

Many thanks for your reply Ed.
I tried your suggestion but all I am able to do in the list from View->Arrange By->Subject is select an item. I see a tick in the list selection I choose but I am not able to drag any list items. I have tried Control-click and right click but still no joy.

What I want to do is format columns so that I see the view like thus:

Priority/Attachment/From/Subject/Received/on top

But all I see is:

Selected arrangement/on top

Be great if I could do this. Cheers

BTW: I noticed that there is a View->Columns item in the menu but it is always grayed out and none selectable.

Right. If you select an item that's checked, e.g., Subject, Entourage will
uncheck it and no longer group by that category. Have you tried that?

View > Columns works only when Viewing by Pane Below, not by Pane On Right.
