Format error in sort

I have a report which has a sort by on a date field. The report was built by a wizard for the sort level. The date header has a field with format which reads =Format$([Date],"mmmm yyyy"). When I run the report, I get an error which asks for a parameter value. If I hit OK without entering the parameter value, I get in error in the field. I am expecting to see the month and year such as December 2003. I am using Access 2003 with WIndowsXP-tablet version. Any suggestions for a better format? Thanks. Mary

What is the parameter value that you are prompted for? Is there a field
named [Date] in your report's record source?

I do have field named Date in the record source and the title of the pop up box is Enter Parameter Value, and the word above the field is Format$. Hope that helps.
