Hello. How do I format a document(s) to print on postcard
stock? This stock happens to be 8.5x11 perforated with
4.25x5.5 cards. I'm trying to write inspirational quotes
on the four cards. Thank you. dc

Set up a custom size label under Tools|Letters and Mailings|Envelopes
and Labels.

Hi, Dave,

Go to Tools > Envelopes and Labels, on the Labels tab. Click the Options
button. Select "Laser and inkjet" and set the Product dropdown to "Avery
standard". In the product number list, select "8387 - Postcard" and click
OK. Back in the Labels dialog, click the New Document button.

This creates a new document containing a table, with each cell sized to
match one of the postcards. If you don't see faint lines for the edges of
the postcards, click Table > Show Gridlines. Select the empty table, copy
it, and paste it at the end of the document as many times as you want. I'd
suggest saving at this stage *as a template*, and then using File > New to
create new documents based on the template rather than going back through
the Labels dialog each time.

Another possibility is to write your quotes in a plain Word table, one per
row. Save that document, which you can easily edit. That document can be the
source for a "mail merge to labels", using the 8387 stock to print the
postcards.
