Format Heading

Ansel

I want to format the headings of major sections to include
a line under the Heading that goes from left margin to
right margin. I would like to be able to choose the
thickness of the line and how close it is under the
heading. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Ansel,

You can modify the Style used for the headings by adding a border under the
Paragraph.

Hope this helps

Format | Borders and Shading. Apply a bottom border to the heading style.

.
Under Format you want to select Border. A screen will
display where you can select a box around the entire
paragraph as well as the thickness of the box. Options
then let you delete the top, left, and right sides. There
is an Options button (at least in Word XP) where you can
specify in points how far the line is from the paragraph.
