format of email address

How do I make an email address in the text not a hot link? I don't want it active and I don't want the hot link color.

Hi Stevie -

If you want to stop the HyperLink behavior altogether, go to Word>
Preferences> AutoCorrect - AutoFormat As You Type, then clear the check on
"Internet and network paths with hyperlinks" in the Replace as You Type
section.

As for any existing docs, select & cut the link then use Edit> Paste
Special - Unformatted Text to paste it back in. If there are several in the
doc - and you have no other fields to be concerned about - you can:

Command+A (to select All), then Shift+Command+F9 to break the links.
