Format of Merged Text

Here's my problem

I am sending out invoices. On the invoice is a table. Cells in the first column of the table are reserved for the name of the organization. I inserted the organization name merge field (from an Excel file) into the appropriate cell

However, some of the organizations have very long names and exceed the column width. I'd rather not expand the column for all the records. Nor do I want to leave it as is, because some of the organizations' names get cut off

Is there a way to either wrap text in a merge field or table cell or, failing those, shrink merge fields to fit in the cell

But you certainly should be getting word wrapping in table cells. And you can also set
the columns to an exact width. Look around under Table/Table Properties
