Format of text changes when pasting text from HTML page

I am in Word 2000 and when I copy and paste text from a HTML doc into
word the bolding of the text goes just opposite of what it was on the
HTML page. I tried this on another person's computer and it did not do
it. What setting could I have set that would case this to happen?
