Format Paragraph - option greyed out (Word 2003)

Hi,

I have a style for a numbered list called "Numbered". I'm trying to change
the paragraph setting to give me a little more vertical space beteween list
items, but the option is greyed out, why???

What I try to do:

1. I click on the drop down arrow in the style name (in the "Styles and
Formatting" navigator on the right).
2. Click "Modify" from popup menu.
3. Click "Format" on the "Modify Style" dialog.
4. Notice the "Paragraph" option is greyed out!

You could do this in all earlier versions of Word.

So, has anyone overcome this problem?

Cheers,
PeterZ

PeterZ,
Why don't you set the numbering in a paragraph style, you will be able to
adjust the vertical spacing there.

PeterZ,
In the dialogue box 'New style' where you make the style did you choose
numbered list in the drow-down (there are four possibilities to choose from)
or did you choose paragraph. If you chose numbered list the options will be
greyed out by design. When you choose paragraph style, then hit the format
button, then numbering, choose your numbering example, you can choose
paragraph formatting afterwards to apply vertical spacing if needed.

Worked like a charm!
I would never have guessed in a million years to do that!

Thanks for your help Luc.
