Format phone numbers in Outlook 2003

Hi Folks,

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to change the format in which phone
numbers (mobile numbers in particular) are displayed in Outlook 2003
Contacts? I would like to prevent a mobile number from having its first two
characters treated as an area code.

Currently, if I enter a mobile number as xxxxxxxxxx Outlook re-formats it to
(xx) xxxx-xxxx. This is what I would like to prevent.
