Format problems going from word 2002 to 97

I have created a large document in Word 2002 for a
customer that is currently running Word 97. When they
open the document the pictures are not keeping the format
along with the callouts. I have tryed to save as Word 97
and it makes the file many times larger and it still
doesn't work. Any ideas?
