format report horizontally

is there a way to format a report so that each record is aligned
horizontally next to each other instead of vertically? I have tried
cross tab however, I can not use all the fields I need

In the Page setup of your eport, specify an appropriate number of columns.
Set the details section width to the width of one column. Specify columns
payout as across, then down

That works to a point. What happens if the amount of columns may
change depending upon how many entries i have and the header is
repeated the same number times as there are columns.



This is what I have in mind:

Header 1 (centered)

Field 1 Field 1 Field 1 Field 1
Field 2 Field 2 Field 2 Field 2


Header 2 (centered)

Field 1 Field 1 Field 1 Field 1
Field 3 Field 3 Field 3 Field 3

To get headers/footers to span the entire page:
Make the width of your detail section equal the width of the page between
margins. On the Columns dialog, for column width, uncheck "Same as detail"
and enter the desired width.
