Formatiing cells which are weekend days

Can anyone help please?

I am using Excel 97, I am wanting to format a column if
the value of a cell is wither a Saturday or a Sunday.

Say if cell value b2 is 22/11/03 (Saturday) then the whole
column of 'B' is coloured in grey.

Can anyone assist with some conditional formatting please?

Select B2:Bwhatever
do format>conditional formatting, formula is

=WEEKDAY($B$2,2)=6

select format button and patterns and grey, click OK twice
