Formating changes when I prepare document for printing

Vinnie

I have a document with multiple sections (1 thru 11), appendices (A thru J),
figures & tables. Everything looks good on the document prior to printing;
however, printing the document results in changes to figure captions, links
and tables. Text & Labeling is good through Appendix A; however, the
autonumbering of captions in Appendix B and beyond sequentially follows the
last number of Appendix A (i.e., Figure A-29, Figure C-30, E-31, etc...). I
don't have much hair left to pull out, but can't seem to figure out why this
is occuring. Can anyone help????

Also, under Tools, Options, Print, clear the box for Update Fields and maybe
also Update links. This will ensure that what you want before you print, is
not automatically refreshed when you print.
Hope this helps

Hi Vinnie

Word has no really simple way to manage captions in appendixes. For one
way to coerce Word into doing what we need, see

How to number headings and figures in Appendixes in Microsoft Word

Hope this helps.

Thx to the both of you for your input; I was hoping I could steer away from
Shauna's recommendation (a big document), but it seems I'm at the point where
I don't have an alternative.
