Formating

I highlight a sentence in my paragraph to bold or
italicize and when I do either of these formats for one
sentence it ends formatting the whole paragraph. Very
frustrating. Any clue to what it may be?

I think if you create a "character" style and attach the
bold character style to whatever you want bolded within
the paragraph, that should leave the rest of your text
alone.
